Beluga was started by Glenn Reid and Stew Langille as a deep tech solution provider for challenging problems in the vehicle and vessel navigation space.
Our initial customers are in the maritime industry, in both smart port technology and vessel navigation. We are in active discussions with partners in agricultural robotics and industrial automation — material handling, mobile robotics, and autonomous campus navigation.
What We Do
The hardest part of autonomous navigation isn’t getting from point A to point B on a map. It’s adhering to local rules along the way: stop signs, lane lines, channel markers, detours, and the thousands of micro-navigation decisions any vehicle makes every minute.
Today, this problem is handled by expensive, error-prone vision systems. We’ve built a better approach: an inexpensive, reliable, digital local route planning system called BIDAR™ — BIdirectional Detection And Ranging.
Our Customers
